Texas | Dallas | Hillsboro | Roadside America Museum | Memorabilia | Classic Cars | Nostalgia | Americana
We made a brief stop at the Roadside America Museum in Hillsboro, Texas located just off of IH-35. We were treated to a private tour by the owner/collector of all things Americana. There was much more than met the eye upon first entering the former car dealership turned museum. It's hard to imagine the amount of time and dedication required to display the thousands of nostalgic items in such a meaningful way!

My interest in history has certainly grown during recent years as our traveling has increased. I don't, however, enjoy history nearly as much as Scott. On one of our many trips between Austin and Dallas, we made a stop at Roadside America Museum and both agreed that we could have spent much more time exploring! We stepped back in time (actually, before our time!) to tour a fascinating collection of advertising memorabilia, classic cars and nostalgic Americana from the 1940s and 1950s. If you are ever making that drive down IH-35, it's definitely a fun diversion on what can be a rather boring drive!
