Colors of the Sun Reflecting in the Rockies at Sprague Lake


    

Located in Rocky Mountain National Park, the hike around Sprague Lake is a must. At about 1/2 mile around, it's not a long hike. The hike is pretty easy so it's great for people of all hiking capabilities - it's even wheelchair accessible. Although the hike is great at most any time, we loved hiking around the lake at sunset. There's just something about seeing the colors of the sun and the mountain scenery reflecting in the water!

What is your favorite sunset scenery?

I almost always love seeing the sunset over water. The water can be an ocean, a lake, a river ... whatever! I just enjoy viewing the reflection of the colors of the setting sun in the water.

Since it's "Sunset Sunday", I'm starting with this photo from our seven week trip that just ended. It was taken on our first of several hikes around Sprague Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. Although we returned at least two more times at sunset, I still like my picture from our first hike!

What scenery do you look for when hoping to capture a great sunset?
