There's more to Stone Town than the intricately carved century old doors! A stroll through the narrow alleyways all of the way to the seafront brings the town's history to life. A few of the must see's include the site of the old Slave Market, the Anglican Cathedral and Jaw's Corner (where you may even come across local's meeting up for a game of dominoes). Make sure to save time to wrap up your visit with some shopping at Darajani Souk (market)!

Do you seek out UNESCO World Heritage Sites when you travel?
Stone Town, on the island of Unguja in the Zanzibar archipelago, has been on the UNESCO list since the year 2000. Many buildings date back to the 18th and 19th centuries and, with a combination of some structures in need of repair plus some more recently restored buildings, we never knew what we would find as we turned the corner!
