Have you shopped at Wall Drug?
After making our way inside, deciding where to go or what to see or do felt overwhelming. The size of Wall Drug definitely blew my mind and it was nothing like a traditional "drug store". With separate "stores" for purchasing food, pharmaceuticals, fudge and everything in between, Wall Drug definitely has the feel of a shopping mall.
It's fun to have a camera along to capture the "picture takin' props" throughout the maze of stores . . . and for the outdoors as well.
There are more souvenirs at this one stop than anywhere else in the region. There's a large selection in all different price ranges making it difficult to choose just one thing. They even have mounted heads of jackalopes!
Although not in full operation during our visit due to the pandemic, we are glad that we followed the advice of the signs inside that said, "Don't miss out on the Wall Drug Backyard". It was easy to imagine how much both kids and adults would enjoy the Backyard activities or available food and drinks.
Having a Travelers Chapel inside a building the likes of Wall Drug was certainly unique ... and probably the only place where there was some peace and quiet.
We enjoyed sharing an early dinner - a hot beef sandwich served with mashed potatoes and homemade gravy and a buffalo burger with fries. Add a slice of cherry pie plus chocolate shakes and we were happy campers!
Finally, we had to sample the "free ice water" that they so heavily advertise!
