With as many as 10,000 slaves, Tippu Tip is thought to have been among the wealthiest of the Muslim slave traders. His personal home was located in the now historic city of Stone Town. Like many other homes in the surrounding area on the island of Zanzibar, he had an intricately carved wooden door. Today, these 100+ year old doors help to tell the story of those who lived in the residences in years gone bye.
