Unique Christmas Light Displays on Austin's 37th Street
Stroll along 37th Street in Austin to see the unique Christmas light displays. Although you may have to walk a couple of blocks after parking your car, you won't have to worry about dodging moving vehicles as you enjoy the lights - it's a pedestrian only street! It's easy to see "Get Lit", "HoHoHo Barbie", "Joy to the Weird" and "Halloween Town" from the sidewalk, but displays like the stuffed animal petting zoo require a walk into a friendly neighbor's backyard.

So glad that we heard a story on the local news about Austin's "37th Street Lights". The night before our eastbound journey, we spent our evening strolling the street to see the 2023 version of Christmas lights. What I remember as "Hippie Christmas" dates back to the 1980s. It's been over 10 years since we last drove to the neighborhood to see the unique light displays which, according to reports, may not be returning due to the few people involved with all of the work.
