What was referred to as Freedom Tower during the planning and construction phases is now the tallest building in the United States. One World Trade Center stands on a portion of the World Trade Center complex that was destroyed by terrorists on September 11, 2001. Today, the new complex in New York's Lower Manhattan includes the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. Upon completion, the complex is expected to have five high-rise office buildings.

Which of the many 911 memorials have you visited?

We joined a bus tour that took us around Manhattan after disembarking our cruise ship at Cape Liberty, New Jersey. Prior to this trip, we'd been lucky enough to make several visits to explore Manhattan, but had never seen the completed One World Trade Center. (During many business trips, I witnessed the construction of the memorial and the building that was being called Freedom Tower from a nearby hotel. Now, I finally have seen the finished products!)
