Spain | Granada | Alhambra | Alcazaba | Military Fortress | Royal Residence | Prison | Torre Del Cubo | Plaza De Las Armas | Barrio Castrense | Torre De La Vela
It is thought that the Alcazaba (on the grounds of Granada's Alhambra) may date back to the ninth century ... or possibly earlier. Originally used as a residential area for the royal guard, both the king and his son established their homes in the Alcazaba therefore making it a royal residence for brief periods of time. The structure was also, at times, used as a state prison, however through the Alcazaba's duration, it was most frequently used for military purposes.

Social Media Description
Although it is one of the oldest parts of the Alhambra complex, the Alcazaba was the last place that we visited. (It wasn't included in our tour, so we explored it, and enjoyed some great views, on our own.)
We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm, and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open. - Jawaharial Nehru
