Located just north of Aswan is the bridge with the largest span crossing Egypt's Nile River. Welcoming vehicles across the bridge since late 2002, the Aswan Bridge is the first suspension bridge to cross the country's famous river. River cruises departing from Luxor and traveling south to Aswan typically approach the bridge in the evening allowing passengers to see the bridge sparkling in lights!

Fun fact: The bridge opened about two years later than originally planned because of the discovery of some ancient artifacts where the structure was being built.
