We got lucky on our catamaran sailing in the Bay of Islands with a fantastic "dolphin show"!
Fun fact: New Zealand is very protective of the marine wildlife that lives in the water surrounding the country. Limits are placed on boats (and people) for how far they must stay from dolphins, how long they can stay in the area, during what hours they may linger to watch wildlife and the noise that they make. Hefty fines can be due if they violate the restrictions.
