South Africa | Cape Town | Simon's Town | Table Mountain National Park | Boulders Beach | African Penguins | Penguin Colony
In addition to the mountains that most associate with Table Mountain National Park, the park also has jurisdiction of beaches in the area. Boulders Beach, near Simon's Town, is one beach that is quite popular, but not just for the sand and water. Although the temperatures in South Africa are not typically cold, Boulders Beach is the home to a colony of tuxedo clad African Penguins!

I have to admit that, one of the the reasons I chose the "Cape of Good Hope" tour was because of the penguins. Yes, one of our stops was at Boulders Beach, home to a large colony of African Penguins. Sadly the number of penguins has been declining and now the species is considered endangered.
