Hear Your Echo at the Center of the Universe


    

From the corner of W. Archer St. and N. Boston Ave. in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma, you can walk on a pedestrian bridge that goes over the railroad tracks. On the bridge, look for concentric circles - one made of concrete and the other a combination of brick and asphalt. Stand on the smaller circle, known locally as the "Center of the Universe". Once in the center, talk or make some noise and listen to the echo!

Where have you experienced something weird that you can't really explain?

It took us two attempts to see (or rather hear) the "Center of the Universe", but we're glad we made the return trip. Just steps away from the "Artificial Cloud" is this spot that you have to hear to believe (and this video doesn't really do it justice). When you talk, the sounds that you hear are all distorted - like a loud echo.

And to think, we almost missed seeing the Center of the Universe!
