Balcony View of the Central Park Neighborhood

Royal Caribbean's Oasis-class cruise ships offer three types of balcony staterooms. Cruisers have a choice of the more traditional balconies which overlook the ocean as well as balconies overlooking either "Central Park" or the "Boardwalk". The oceanview balconies are the most expensive, yet all three options provide an outdoor balcony with seating and a table plus the ability to enjoy any available outdoor sunlight and breeze.

What is your favorite type of stateroom on a cruise?

We have always tried to balance the price that we pay for a cruise ship cabin with the number of days that we hope to cruise during the year. By choosing a oceanview stateroom without a balcony, we figure that we can spend more days cruising! We have been intrigued by the "interior balconies" that are available on some of Royal Caribbean's largest ships.

We now finally have a chance to sail in a balcony stateroom which overlooks the Central Park neighborhood onboard the Symphony of the Seas. It's a great option - we still have a sliding glass door, we can stand or sit outside to enjoy the sun and breeze plus we can do some people watching! (The only downside that we have found so far is that we need to close the shades when changing clothes as there are balconies across from us!)

Have you ever stayed in an interior balcony?
