Breathe In and Don't Scratch the Rental Car!

The Chandelier Drive-Thru Tree is believed to be 2,400 years old! The tree can be found about three hours north of the San Francisco Bay Area in Legget, California. Drivers have been keeping their fingers crossed as they attempt to pass through the tunnel carved out of the tree since 1937. (As long as your vehicle is under six feet across including side view mirrors and less than seven feet tall, you should be able to clear!)

Social Media Description

Have you ever flown somewhere to take a road trip?

After arriving in Oakland, CA, we picked up both a rental car and Scott's son. We then immediately began our north bound round trip headed toward Redwood National Park - but we always like to find interesting things along the way to make our drives more fun. We started with the Chandelier Drive-Thru Tree. (Since I got out of the car to provide hand signals to make sure we didn't scratch our rental car, I don't even know what it felt like inside!)

Where did you go on the last road trip that you started far away from your home city?
