The Gate to the Civil War Fort on Chattanooga Hill

Point Park is just one of several places that can be visited in the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Battlefield. The park was a strategic location and today has a tremendous view. Often referred to as Lookout Mountain, you can see the river, the town of Chattanooga, TN and the Lookout Mountain Battlefield. The old fort gate demonstrates the civil war stronghold of this overlook.

Are you holders of one of the America the Beautiful National Park passes?

We've had a national park pass every year since 2017, and because of the pass, we visit some places that we probably would not visit without it. One such place was Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Battlefield in Chattanooga, TN - home of Point Park. As we entered through the old fort gate, we had a feeling that we would be in for a treat - and we were not disappointed. Awesome views, interesting monuments and even some hiking trails!
