Portugal | Lisbon | Lisboa | Day Trip | Alentejo | Azaruja | Corticarte Cork Factory | Arte em Cortica | Retail | Cork Souvenirs
A visit to the Corticarte Cork Factory (Arte em Cortica) is an opportunity to learn and shop all in one. Your stop at the traditional cork factory starts with an introduction to the history of cork as well as the production process. See the various stages of the cork starting from the initial "rolls" of bark stripped off of the tree all of the way to the end product offered to consumers. You'll be surprised at the huge variety of items made from cork!

We are not big shoppers when we travel, but we did enjoy our stop at the Corticarte Cork Factory. Learning the process of preparing the cork for crafting was interesting, but shopping was more fun! (The prices were great and they had a large variety.)
