Malaysia | Kuala Lumpur | Melacca | Melaka | Jonker Street | Jonker Walk | UNESCO World Heritage Site | Night Market
Jonker Street is the very crowded street that runs through Melaka, one of Malaysia's UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Usually referred to as Jonker Walk, during weekdays it's both pedestrians and moving vehicles that fill the street. On weekend evenings, the street actually becomes a "walk" when it is pedestrian only. No matter when you visit, you'll find cafes and retail shops, but the Night Market only comes alive on weekend evenings.

Here's the crowd on Jonker Street (affectionately referred to as Jonker Walk) on a Friday in the early afternoon. Can't even imagine the street on a weekend evening when there's a Night Market and the street is pedestrian only!
Once you have travelled, the voyage never ends, but is played out over and over again in the quietest chambers. The mind can never break off from the journey. - Pat Conroy
