Great View From Inside the Sea Cave on Curacao

Although there are more than ten inlets (or bays), the name Shete Boka stands for seven inlets (which are protected for turtle breeding). Starting at Boka Tabla, a short hike along a gravel and rock path leads down to a lower viewpoint and an underground cave. The views are remarkably different as are the sounds of the waves crashing into the shore - depending on whether you are inside or outside of the sea cave.

Do you enjoy listening to the unique sounds of the ocean?

While on the "All West Beach Hopping" tour with Irie Tours in Curacao in 2019, we visited a very interesting sea cave in Shete Boka. Some steps and decking allowed us to walk down into the darkness and view the crashing waves from inside of the sea cave. We could see the waves building and moving in from the ocean ... wait for it, wait for it ... and finally it would come crashing into the sea cave just before our eyes. Fortunately we were back far enough on a safe platform!

We also had time to quickly hike the short distance up to the top of the limestone bluffs. From there we could peer down from the upper viewpoint for yet another perspective of how high the water splashes each time a wave crashes into the limestone.
