Nevada | Reno | Lake Tahoe | Sierra Nevada | Alpine Lake | California | Mineral | Inspiration Point | Fannette Island | Road Trip | Viewpoints
Recognized as the largest alpine lake in North America, Lake Tahoe is also the second-deepest lake in the USA. Located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Lake Tahoe sits on the border between the states of Nevada and California. With both beaches and ski resorts, the lake is popular for year round recreation. A drive around the entire 72 mile perimeter of the lake takes over two hours - but allow extra time for stops to soak in the scenery!

Social Media Description
Day 1 of our journey took us from the Reno Tahoe International Airport to Lake Tahoe (Nevada / California) and then on to Mineral, California. We didn't have a lot of time, so we drove around the southern part of Lake Tahoe. We made stops at several viewpoints including Inspiration Point where we had a view of Fannette Island, the only island in the lake.
