Wade Fishing in Texas' Matagorda Bay


    

Although they call it fishing, there's something about fish catching that makes it more fun! But is it still fun when all you catch is a Hardhead Catfish? After doing a little research about this fish, you'll learn that it is quite common in the gulf and is more easily catchable than many other fish. It's well known for stealing bait, and many believe that its best use is as bait for catching other fish (rather than for eating). The Hardhead Catfish can also be poisonous!

What is your favorite type of fish or seafood?

Scott's first answer to that question would be shrimp. For me, just about any kind of seafood is my favorite.

Unfortunately, after spending our afternoon fishing, we brought ZERO edible fish back home with us. (Well, our experienced fishing friends each caught a fish that we were able to eat for dinner.) It was still a fun afternoon of wade fishing - here's the Hardhead Catfish that I caught (much better for bait than for eating.)
