Malaysia | Penang | George Town | Cruise | Fort Cornwallis | Military | Lighthouse | History | Seri Rambai Cannon | Shore Excursion
Just a short distance from Penang's George Town cruise terminal, what remains of Fort Cornwallis is an easy walk for cruise ship passengers. Although only a fraction of the 77 cannons originally installed along the fort's brick walls can be seen today, one of them, the Seri Rambai cannon, is historical. The Fort Cornwallis Lighthouse dates back to 1882 and the original fort, the country's oldest, was completed in 1810.
