Czech Republic | Prague | Franz Kafka | Kinetic Sculpture | Art | Artwork | Statue | Sculpture | Bust | David Cerny
David Cerny, an artist from the Czech Republic, is the man behind the kinetic sculpture of writer Franz Kafka. The sculpture is a mirrored head made of 42 layers of spinning stainless steel - with each spin comes a new face. Some say that the statue symbolizes the way that the writer's constantly churning mind worked. Others believe that it reflects the fact that he was often depressed and doubted himself.

I had read about the Franz Kafka sculpture in Prague before our visit, but wasn't exactly sure what to expect. So glad we got to see it "spin"!
