Jordan | Petra Archaeological Park | Al-Khazneh | Treasury | Ed-Deir | Nabataean | Monastery | Hike | Hiking | History | Archaeology
Just about the only way to explore Petra Archaeological Park is on foot. Like the Main Trail from the park's entrance (The Siq) to the Treasury (Al-Khazneh), some of the hiking trails are relatively level and easy. From the Treasury, there's quite a few hiking options of various intensity. For example, the hike from the Treasury to the Monastery (Ed-Deir) includes hundreds of steps and is much more difficult.

It was quite warm and the hike was not an easy one (lots of stairs), but it was worth the effort. We got our steps in for the day (and then some), but got from Petra's Treasury to the Monastery. Both were amazing structures!
