Originally built in the early 1900s, the Hanapepe Swinging Bridge is a pedestrian bridge that spans Kauai's Hanapepe River. Due to damage from the 1992 Hurricane Iniki, the original bridge was "replaced" with the one that "sways" today. No matter the time of day or day of week that you stop for a visit in the artsy town of Hanapepe, you'll find both locals and visitors crossing the bridge.

What swinging bridges have you encountered during your travels?
This was our third (or maybe even fourth) time to make a stop at the Hanapepe Swinging Bridge in Kauai. I usually think of swinging bridges as a fun diversion for youngsters, but each of our visits to this bridge have been adults only. It truly is fun for all ages!
Would you make a stop to "walk" across a swinging bridge?
