A Needle Rising inside a Maui State Park


    

With its tip rising 1,200 feet above the floor of Iao Valley, the Iao Needle is taller than the Eiffel Tower. This state monument located in western Maui is iconic - it is actually an extinct volcano found in a state park located in western Maui. A paved path leads to a viewpoint of the Needle and a walk through the botanical garden is perfect for learning about plants brought to the islands.

Where would you go with a Southwest Companion Pass?

I'm dreaming about where we can go if we actually get a promotional Southwest Companion Pass valid for the first two months of 2022. According to the "rules", we should qualify - we registered and bought tickets during the promotional period. Once we fly to and from California, we will have met the requirements.

Took this picture during one of our previous visits to Maui ... we would sure love to return - but maybe we should go somewhere else?
