During the winter months, the waters at Jardim do Mar come alive with waves that delight both surfers and those who enjoy watching others ride the waves. The spot became more popular in the 1990s, and although many are less than pleased with more recent changes, Jardim do Mar still attracts some of Europe's best. Even when there are no surfers, it can still be fun to watch the tide as it rolls in!

Just loved walking on the promenade watching the surf "roll in" at Jardim do Mar on Madeira's southwest side. I can only imagine how exciting it would be if we were here about a month later once surfers were riding the waves!
