The Kastellet in Copenhagen is an interesting fortress shaped like a five-sided star. Near the cruise port
area, it was an important bastion to protect the city in early times (from the 17th - 19th centuries). The
Kastellet is surrounded by moats to protect the berm and there are several historical cannons plus a
picturesque windmill on the premises. Since the fortress is near the famous "Little Mermaid" statue, we
were able to see two awesome tourist sites in a short amount of time!
