What UNESCO sites have you visited?
As we explore different parts of the world, we do try to make it to as many UNESCO sites as possible.
One of the most unique UNESCO sites that we have visited was Machu Picchu in Peru. Machu Picchu is
also listed on most of the various "wonders of the world" listings.
We checked out of our hotel rooms and were on our walk in the pouring rain to join the line of people
waiting for the bus that would take us to Machu Picchu - all by 3:45 AM on a January morning in 2018.
Success - we were #5, 6, 7 & 8 in line for the first bus which left at 5:30 AM. Although no one was
allowed to enter Machu Picchu until 6:00 AM, it was amazing to see the constantly expanding crowd.
Even though it was a gloomy, rainy day, it's a day we'll never forget!
