Explore the Historic City Center of Spain's Malaga

Hello to all from the streets of Malaga!

Squares like Plaza de la Constitution and Plaza de la Merced, the cathedral and Calle Marques de Larios are just a sampling of places to explore in the city where the famous artist Picasso was born. While the streets of Malaga's historic quarter may be narrow, there is plenty of history on both sides. The good news is that the old town in fairly compact. Although you can walk past the most important historical sites in just a day, you'll have to choose which to spend the time to truly explore.

Have you visited the city where Picasso was born?

Although our time in Malaga was limited, our favorite area to explore was the streets of the historic city center. The narrow streets are packed with history - museums, churches, historic buildings, restaurants and squares. With shops and boutiques, the more modern Calle Marques de Larios was one of the most popular streets where we found both locals and tourists.

Is Malaga on your bucket list?
