Lake Taupo Boat Ride to Maori Rock Carvings

On display for all to see since 1980 (after four years of carving), the huge Maori Rock Carving on Lake Taupo is one of New Zealand's most popular tourist sights. Measuring almost 46 feet tall, the rock carving is located in Mine Bay, an alcove on Lake Taupo. For most people, the easiest way to see the carving is on a 1 1/2 to 2 hour narrated boat tour that cruises around the lake.
