Mercado Central, across from the Silk Market in Old Town Valencia, is great for those looking to purchase fresh ingredients for their next meal. The indoor market was built in the early 20th century on the same space that was used for an outdoor market. If you visit on an empty stomach, it will be hard not to make a purchase. From fresh produce to meats or fish, nuts, spices and even smoothies, the selection is incredible. Plus, don't miss looking up to see the amazing dome overhead.

When traveling, what do you typically do for your meals?
When we aren't traveling by cruise ship, we usually eat out - especially when in a foreign country like Spain. We love having the chance to try local foods prepared the way the locals eat, so we try to avoid touristy looking restaurants as well as US chains with overseas locations. After walking into Valencia's Mercado Central, I've already decided that when we return (hopefully in 2024), I'm going to shop here and cook at least one meal!
