Missouri | Kansas City | Resurrection North Cemetery | Armed Forces | Veterans Day | Armistice Day | Remembrance Day | Military Honor
Each year on November 11, the United States observes the federal holiday known as Veterans Day. Different from Memorial Day which honors members of the military who lost their life while serving the country, Veterans Day honors all who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Many other countries around the world celebrate the end of World War I on November 11 with holidays known as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day.

In addition to the family losing a wonderful father and grandfather (and father-in-law), just last month the United States lost a man who served on active duty in the Air Force for four years followed by another 20+ years of reserve duty. So very nice to see current members of the military honor him with a gun salute, playing Taps and presenting the flag that was draped over his casket to his wife of over 65 years.
If you're twenty-two, physically fit, hungry to learn and be better, I urge you to travel - as far and as widely as possible. Sleep on floors if you have to. Find out how other people live and eat and cook. Learn from them - wherever you go. - Anthony Bourdain
