Often thought to be the best geyser in the United States, Old Faithful is located in the southwest part of Yellowstone National Park. Although the height of the geyser's eruptions vary, they average about 135 feet and sometimes blow as high as 180 feet. It's a good thing that there is a great seating area to watch since the eruptions sometimes last as long as 5 minutes.

Have you visited Yellowstone National Park?

On our 2017 trip to Yellowstone, we enjoyed our bear sightings, seeing the boiling pots and so much more. It was even fun playing the waiting game (and enjoying some rest time) in anticipation of the famous geyser blowing. Finally, on schedule, Old Faithful launched into the sky. Wow, what an amazing sight!

Fun fact: Since 1872, when Yellowstone became the first national park in the world, Ole Faithful has erupted more than 1 million times!
