Olympic Village: Home to Athletes in 2010 Winter Olympics

Located in a corner of Vancouver's False Creek area, an Olympic Village was built for the 2010 Winter Olympics (and also the 2010 Winter Paralympics). During the 2010 games, the village was home to athletes, coaches and officials. Once the games ended, the community was converted into a residential area with housing and parks plus retail and service. Getting to and from the area is made easy by bike routes, pedestrian ferries and the SkyTrain.

What former Olympic sites have you visited?

As we've traveled around the world, we've had fun exploring Olympic venues in cities including Athens, Barcelona, Beijing, Los Angeles and Sydney. We were looking forward to adding another to our list during our week in Vancouver. What we didn't realize was that the Olympic Village in Vancouver was used primarily for housing - not so much for competition!

Have you visited any Olympic sites?
