The Panama City Beach New Year's Eve Beach Ball Drop was named the number one "New Year's Eve Drop" in a recent USA Today Readers' Choice Awards poll. The 2024 party started at 5:35 PM with free live music in a street festival atmosphere at Pier Park. Following the 8:00 PM countdown, catering to those with an early bedtime, thousands of inflated beach balls dropped from above before a round of fireworks. Next up was two more bands followed by the midnight countdown. That's when the world's largest beach ball glides down the pole at Celebration Tower before another round of fireworks.
