Incredible Day at Pereque Beach in Brazil

When our cruise ship docked at the Port of Illabela in Brazil, we walked to a local beach that was so beautiful. Pereque Beach was only about a mile from our cruise ship, and the beach had awesome white sand and palm trees. We really enjoyed our day spent exploring the area and doing some people watching. Unlike in some of Brazil's big cities, we felt totally safe here!

When traveling by cruise ship, do you enjoy relaxing days at port cities, or do you prefer to spend your time seeing all of the sites?

We knew that we were going to have some long days in Rio de Janeiro during Carnival, so when we arrived in Ilhabela, we decided to take it easy. Walking to Pereque Beach, one of the beaches nearest to our ship, made for an enjoyable and relaxing day. Although we did get our steps in getting to and from the beach, we loved just lying in the shade on the white sand and watching all of the activity.
