There are numerous towers in Prague which allow visitors to climb to the top for a bird's eye view of the city. Getting to the top of Petrin Tower, inspired by Paris' Eiffel Tower and built for the 1891 Jubilee Exhibition, requires a climb up nearly 300 steps. The good news is that there is also an option for a swift elevator ride to the top (which is even included in the Prague Visitor Pass).

Even though the funicular was out of service, we walked to Petrin Hill for one last bird's eye view over Prague. This one was from the observation deck at Petrin Lookout Tower which, at first glance, resembles the Eiffel Tower.

Fun fact: Although the Eiffel Tower structure is taller, the altitude of both Petrin Tower and the tower in Paris are very similar ... but only because the tower in Prague stands upon a hill!
