Castries, St. Lucia is a popular stop for cruise ship port visits. With two cruise terminals, Pointe Seraphine and La Place Carenage, plus an industrial port and a bay large enough for tendering, Castries can accommodate multiple cruise ships. Both cruise terminals are filled with retail and duty- free shopping including apparel, liquor, tobacco and souvenirs.

What restrictions have impacted travel plans you've made recently?

When we left home, we weren't sure how many of our six cruise ports would be impacted by restrictions. Fortunately, we had no issues at first three ports. Our port day in Castries, St. Lucia was just the opposite.

Two days before our arrival, we learned that we had three options - go on a tour sponsored by the cruise ship, shop or eat at the terminal or take a taxi to an approved tourist area. We've previously been to St. Lucia and weren't excited about any of the tours, so we chose to just see what was up at the terminal. Not much! (Good thing we could get back on the ship and enjoy the hot tub!)
