Although "Portuguese Pavement" (known locally as "Calcada Portuguesa") is found not only in Porto, there are some beautiful examples of these patterned walkways in and near the historic city. It is "calceteiros" who are credited with designing and creating these masterpieces for your feet found in Portugal as well as former colonies of the country. The perfectly arranged pieces of stone are reminiscent of mosaics typically seen on walls.
