Creativity Wins at Prancer Path in Downtown Laurel

The more than 100 Christmas trees decorated in downtown Laurel, Mississippi help raise money for the United Way of the Pine Belt Region. Called "Prancer Path", local businesses adopt a tree that they can decorate in their own way. Once all are decorated, a team of judges rank the trees based on creativity, beauty and spirit of the season. Visitors and locals are also invited to stroll through the path enjoying the holiday decor ... and even choosing their favorite!

In early December, we left our Florida condo and headed back toward Texas. We had tickets to see "MJ, The Musical" in Dallas, so we went a different route than normal. We made an afternoon stop in Laurel, Mississippi where we stumbled upon "Prancer Path" in the city's downtown community. So much fun to see how each local business chose to decorate their adopted tree!
