Egypt | Abu Simbel | Nile River Cruise | Lake Nasser | UNESCO | Queen Nerfertari | Hathor | Small Temple | Temple of Hathor and Nefertari
The smaller of the two temples at Abu Simbel honors Queen Nefertari, often referred to as the favorite of the wives of King Ramses II. Also dedicated to Hathor, the goddess of love and music, the temple stands just steps away from the Great Temple of Ramses II. On each side of the queen's temple entrance stand three large statues - a statue of Queen Nefertari between two statues of King Ramses II. Smaller statues of their children also stand with their parents.

Social Media Description
It's a must to visit both the Small Temple dedicated to Queen Nefertari as well as the Great Temple of King Ramses II when at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Abu Simbel.
Fun fact: These statues of the queen are among very few statues in Egypt where the king and queen are equal in height!
