The St. Elias Alpine Guides website states that "A guide makes anything possible, and they know the glacier like the back of their hand." They point out features including the blue pools (swim in icy cold water, anyone?), crevices, caves and canyons. The guides also share information about how glaciers change as time passes by.

Morgan, our guide for our 1/2 day hike on Root Glacier, led us out a bit further than other groups who left at the same time. It was so interesting to hear the landing (and echo) of a chunk of ice as it traveled down a crevice!
