Palace Views from the Waters of Lake Schwerin

Since the castle was closed to visitors during our visit, we had time for a cruise in Germany's Lake Schwerin. The boat ride provided an awesome viewpoint and photo opportunities of the fairy tale like castle located on an island within the lake. The current castle was built in the mid 1800s and parts of the castle were destroyed by fire in 1913. Schwerin Schloss was most recently restored and renovated in 2019.

Do you like to get off the beaten path when you travel?

From the Baltic Port of Warnemunde, many people choose to take a several hour long bus ride to Berlin. You can also travel by train to get to Schwerin, Germany - less than an hour away. There's a great boat ride which will take you out to see the area plus get some awesome views of the Schwerin Castle!

Where would you go - Berlin or Schwerin? #WordyExplorers #germany #BalticCruise #SchwerinCastle
