What's it like being a safari guide? Only those in the role can really answer that question. But, those who are passengers riding with a guide get a glimpse into their lives. While sitting in the right side of the car, guides drive on these "free massage roads". They must have some basic car repair skills and be prepared to use them. Then, there is being away from their family day after day while being responsible for travelers from all over the world. The list goes on and on!

At first blush, it sounds like being a safari guide might be a fun (and not too difficult) job. After being on the road with our guide, Baraka (Maasai Wanderings), it's been very easy to realize that, while parts of the job may be fun, it's definitely not an easy job! The driving alone is more than many can handle!
