Not Your Typical State Park: St. Andrews Has It All!

Hearing the words "state park" often paints a picture of camping and hiking in the minds of many. If those activities don't excite you, don't let your impression steer you away from visiting St. Andrews State Park. Located in Florida's panhandle in the city of Panama City Beach, the park has over a mile of white sandy beach with water perfect for swimming, snorkeling, surfing and fishing. For those who can't get enough of the park during a day trip, there is overnight camping and hiking too.

Where is your favorite state park located?

We enjoy hiking and overnight camping, but many state parks are great for day trips too! St. Andrews State Park, just a few miles from our vacation condo, fronts up to both the Gulf of Mexico and St. Andrews Bay. Plus, the popular day trip destination, Shell Island, is just a short boat ride away.

We finally got to spend a day relaxing on the sandy shores ... well, some of our group braved the waters to do some snorkeling, too! Before leaving, we did a short hike - no alligators found during our day in park.
