Cruising | United Kingdom | England | Salisbury Plains | Stonehenge | Magna Carta | Stonehenge Museum
The Salisbury Plains in southern England are very majestic and beautiful as you drive along. Rolling green hills with occasional houses and sheep surround the area. Then, as you top a hill, there it is - the famous Stonehenge just sitting in the middle of nowhere! It truly is a wondrous site. It's fun to think about the ancient people that built it while wondering what they were thinking? Stonehenge is neolithic and thought to be built between 3000BC and 2000BC. Not to far away is the medieval Salisbury Cathedral - next time we visit we want to go inside to see the Magna Carta.

When you visit ancient structures do you sometimes leave with more questions than answers?
We enjoyed every minute that we spent exploring Stonehenge, but we did have lots of questions that we still don't have answers to! Who built Stonehenge? Where did the stones come from? How did they get the big heavy stones to the site? What is the symbolism to the arrangement? It is definitely fun to learn all that you can by visiting the amazing structure, but there are still more questions!
