With hiking, natural beauty and amazing views of both the Atlantic Ocean, surrounding mountains and the city below, Table Mountain is one of Cape Town's most visited sites. At an elevation of over 3,500 feet, the sandstone mountain has a fairly flat top making hiking on the summit something that many people enjoy. Getting to the top is another story! While hiking up is possible for those who are fit, there is also a cable car (that's been in operation for nearing 100 years) available for those who prefer the easy way up!

When researching things to do in Cape Town, South Africa, no matter what "must do" list we read or who we asked, Table Mountain was a unanimous choice. After spending much of our afternoon riding the cable car and hiking around the top, it's easy to understand why!
