One of the "mid-lake" towns, Varenna is on the eastern shore of Lake Como. In addition to the Walk of Lovers, Varenna is best known for the houses that stand on the lakeshore including Villa Monastero and Villa Cipressi. Approaching the village by ferry, it's the colorful facades of the buildings that everyone seems to notice!

Because of the timing of the public ferry, we enjoyed a longer stay (and sipping a hot chocolate) in Varenna. The "Walk of Lovers" was beautiful and oh so colorful!
