A Walk Surrounded by Animals in their Home

Led by an armed safari ranger, a walking safari is a unique way to view animals in Arusha National Park. Rather than looking off into the distance, animals like warthogs, water buffalo, monkeys and giraffes are much closer. As animals walk, eat, trot, play and run in their natural environment, your assigned ranger will be answering your questions, sharing interesting tidbits about the flora, fauna and park and keeping you safe!

One of many highlights during our eight day journey in Tanzania was a walking safari through parts of Arusha National Park. In addition to some birds, it was warthogs, water buffalo and giraffes that captured our attention along our walk.

Fun fact: Warthogs and water buffalo are often seen hanging out together in the park. It's because they make a great grazing pair - the water buffalo eat the tall grass and the warthogs eat the short grass!
