Because of the hit song "Take it Easy" by the Eagles, more people have heard of Winslow than many other cities of like sizes. The Arizona city, located in the state's northeastern quadrant, was on the country's original "Mother Road", Route 66. Although people often visit Winslow for one of these two reasons, its residents just call the city "home"! Like in many other cities across the US, locals and visitors enjoy annual Christmas tree lighting events. The Mayor of Winslow delivers a "State of the City Address" in Route 66 Plaza on the night that the tree is first lit.
